Thankfully, deserves got nothing to do with charts. That said, this was not the song that deserved that honor, as it mashed up one old trend I enjoyed and one ongoing trend I do not in a very odd way that didn’t sonically work for me at all. IATFB says: I’ve had a soft spot for OMG since “ Closer” and I’m also a fan of a bunch of their members individually, so I’m thrilled they finally got #1 on Melon hours ago. Sadly, the rest of the song is too uneven for this comeback to stand out in any meaningful way. The pre-chorus hints more strongly at the Oh My Girl sound I love, with a richer arrangement that draws on the group’s solid vocals. “Nonstop” builds towards a decent climax, as the track’s various elements are layered together to create a satisfying tapestry that should have been built upon further. Melodically, the song is a case of style over substance, hinging on a simple, repeated hook that’s catchy but ultimately lazy. I’m also not a fan of the “ nonstop, nonstop” refrain that ends each chorus, especially when it’s underlined by trap beats. But, this hip-hop focus steers the track in some frustrating directions. “Nonstop” succumbs to K-pop’s second-verse curse, with an extended, trap-influenced segment that kills what little momentum has generated up to that point.
I’ve always thought that Mimi was underutilized in their music, so it’s nice to hear more of her. Of all of Oh My Girl’s title tracks, “Nonstop” feels the most rap-heavy. However, instead of my usual music video fashion review, I thought it would be fun to do an inspired blog post this time. I knew from the teaser pics that were being released I’d talk about their outfits in the video. They had also held an online showcase to. I fell in love immediately with the outfits and imagery used in Oh My Girl’s Nonstop music video. It has been 8 months since their return and their fans are absolutely in love with the new mini album as well as title track with the same name Nonstop.
OH MY GIRL has made their comeback on Apr. However, it lacks any real identity or purpose beyond recycling elements that have worked for different acts in the past. OH MY GIRL Kills The Music Charts By Taking Over With Nonstop. After all, the girls themselves successfully tackled this sound on last summer’s underrated b-side “ Tropical Love.” And, “Nonstop” is a serviceable single improved by the group’s effortless charisma. I’m going to have a great time replaying this for the next couple of days. We’ve come to the point where “tropical” almost feels nostalgic, so I’m not too frustrated with the opening synth riff. My personal favorites were definitely ‘Nonstop’ and ‘Dolphin’. Please add to the contents of this page, but only images that pertain to the article. ‘NONSTOP’ by OH MY GIRL is a really good EP that has a little bit of everything. This page is an image gallery for NONSTOP (mini album).
It’s a lovely addition to their discography. This kind of stays close to what I’ve come to expect style-wise of OH MY GIRL. ‘Krystal’ closes the EP with a mid-tempo track with brilliant vocals. We start with video game synths and it sets up the mood for a fun, high energy track. Their harmonies were lovely and I’d really love to see a live version of this. The vocals really had me in my feels, especially when the violins came in. We start with a beautiful descending piano. Up next is ‘Flower Tea’ and it leads us to ballad city. This song is dripping in sass and attitude and I LOVE it!! It’s groovy and I was waiting for that sweet, sweet buildup. I really dig the bass throughout ‘Dolphin’. ‘Dolphin’ is up next and starts with a funky intro.
The rap section is DOPE and elevates this song to a certified banger. I’m in love with this summer hit and I want to play it on the beach (when I finally am allowed to go).
